Patricia Ann Oare (Hazzard) Schenectady - Patricia A. Oare, age 84 originally of Gloversville, and resided in Caroga Lake for many years, died Wednesday April 10, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with an illness, at her home with her loving family by her side.
Patricia, was born on March 17, 1940 in Cobleskill N.Y., the daughter of the late Virgil Hazzard and Alice Loveless.
Patricia was married to the love of her life John V. Oare on May 3, 1959 in Gloversville. John and Patricia remained in love, and committed to each other until John's death in October of 2020.
Patricia was a home maker who loved staying at the family home raising the couples six children. Patricia also loved to do crafts, and spent countless hours with John crafting with wood, crocheting, and painting many different scenes on rocks and other media. Patricia was a fantastic artist and loved creating paintings with oil paints, and watching her game shows.
Patricia adored her family and was most proud of and loved all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild.
Patricia is survived by, one sister Virginia Briggs (Ray) of Gloversville, a half-brother James Hazzard (Laurie Yerdon) of Cherry Valley, her six children and their spouses. John Oare Jr. of Gloversville, Matthew Oare (Janelle) of the town of Glenn, Paula Oare-Lehr (Brian), of Rotterdam, , David Oare of Johnstown, Karen Oare-O'Lucci (Joe) of Gardner, Kansas, Joseph Oare (Gaitri) of Whippany, New Jersey. Eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Alice, her sister Frances Fagent, her sister Carolyn Oare, a half-brother Virgil Hazzard Jr.
