Brian Merriam has been creating statues that honor our area’s history since 2015, and without fail every time he takes a closer look at a prominent Schenectadian from the past, he’s never disappointed.
The person Merriam and his statue project committee are currently shining a light on is Elizabeth Gillette, one of Schenectady’s first women doctors and its first female surgeon.
