Woman accused of animal cruelty
Tetlak
CHARLESTON—A woman who moved and left her animals behind is facing animal cruelty charges, Montgomery County sheriff’s deputies said. Lynn A. Tetlak, 57, of 2224 Rose St., Schenectady, was arrested by deputies Tuesday and charged with animal cruelty and animal abandonment. Deputies said Tetlak moved from her residence on Burtonsville Road and left behind a peacock, ducks, chickens and cats. Tetlak left the animals to roam the property with no food, water or shelter for more than a week before neighbors, who had been trying to feed the animals, called the sheriff’s office, Undersheriff Jeffery T. Smith said. Deputies said several animals had already died. The animals are in the care of animal rehabilitation specialists and the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter. Tetlak was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Town Court on March 25.
