County can make facility more efficient
The proposals to privatize the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility and the Nursing Service are in, and what did we learn? First, we learned there are not many companies out there that want to bid on our facilities. I understand it’s because our programs serve everyone in the community — including those whom most other agencies don’t want to bother with. Second, I think we learned this process is, in the end, about what it means to be a community. The way I understand the article in the paper, the county asked Nathan Littauer and Mountain Valley Hospice to be involved. Of course, they have to respond; they are part of our community. Lastly, I think we learned that if the community, employees and the county work together, a long-term solution can be worked on and implemented that meets the need of our residents, including keeping both the RHCF and Nursing Service public. So, if Nathan Littauer is willing to pay $4.

Something does not add up.
Plow was slow to arrive
On Feb. 25, during the snow storm, our paper carrier went off the side of our road because the road was not plowed.
My husband brought the carrier into our house and I called the town barn. We live in the town of Florida.
Little Leagues trying to keep prices down
The local Little Leagues are fair. It’s not fair to compare it to soccer because they are two different organizations. If you do your homework on area prices, you will find that Johnstown is in the middle of the pack.
