Teen Vox writer breaks down where the candidates stand on the issues
Voting on the issues can be hard. Especially when one week voters hear candidates slinging attacks about Sen. Barack Obama’s association with former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers and the next week about Sen. John McCain’s ties with The Keating Five. Bringing these political pratfalls back to the limelight is not only irrelevant, but it also is used to distract voters from making an informed decision about their candidate of choice. With Election Day looming only nine days away, young voters need to know where the candidates stand when it comes to those issues most important to them. The following is a summary of their views: Economy Obama: With the economy in dire straits and dominating the limelight this election season, Sen. Obama has fought to emphasize the disparities between his and Sen. McCain’s tax plans. The Illinois senator would provide a tax cut for working families by creating a new tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family.
