Audrey Anne (Kelly) Flanagan

Audrey Anne (Kelly) Flanagan of Dennis, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. Audrey was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Henshaw) Kelly. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts. She married Joseph P. Flanagan and they raised their eight children in Broadalbin, New York.

Audrey taught various elementary grades at the Broadalbin Central School for close to 30 years. She also owned and operated a clothing boutique in upstate New York. After her retirement from teaching, she settled on Pilgrim Road in Dennis, Massachusetts, where she had spent many summer vacations. She had a lifelong love of antiques and was proprietor of Audrey’s Antiques located on Hope Lane and Old King’s Highway in Dennis, MA.

Audrey is survived by Joseph P. Flanagan and their eight wonderful children and twelve lovely grandchildren as follows: eldest son, Joseph P. Flanagan Jr. of Dennis, Massachusetts; daughter, Eileen M. Flanagan, her husband Rob Huber, their daughter Casey, and their twin sons Connor and Corey, of Lake Tahoe, Nevada; daughter, Diane M. McKenna, her husband, Ron, their daughter Lauren and son Craig, of Columbus, Ohio; son, Mark J. Flanagan and his wife, Susan, their son Ryan and daughters Kelsey and Allyssa, of Chappaqua, New York; son, Paul D. Flanagan of San Diego, California; son, Neil J. Flanagan and his wife, Angela, their sons, Jack and Charlie and daughter Kelly, of Rye Brook, New York; son, Dean M. Flanagan of Manhattan; and daughter, Laura Lee Flanagan, her husband Fred Stoffel and their daughter Audreyanna, of Brewster, Massachusetts.

She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Boyd of Ventura, CA. Audrey is the sister of the late John and James Kelly.

Audrey loved children, playing the piano and the beauty of Cape Cod. She touched many lives and will always be remembered for her storytelling, kind heart, unwavering zest for life, and gentle soul —- she was a true romantic!

A funeral will be held at the Hallett Funeral Home, located at 273 Station Ave, South Yarmouth, Massachusetts, on Monday, May 19, at 9:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road Brewster, MA. Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery, Yarmouthport.
