Fultonville receives housing repair grant
FULTONVILLE - The village has secured a housing rehabilitation grant for $374,000, Mayor Robert Headwell announced.
The grant, through the Housing Trust Fund Corp., allows the village to repair up to 20 owner-occupied homes. Some of the homes will be for people with physical impairments.
"It is with great pleasure that I announce that the village of Fultonville is partnering with the NYS Housing Trust Foundation to continue to assist our residents with critical home repairs," Headwell said in a news release. "This grant comes at a great time as we work to complete our current housing rehabilitation project and stabilize our neighborhoods."
Over the past four years, the village has secured $1.2 million in housing rehabilitation funds, $200,000 for Main Street building facade repairs, $15,000 for a community development strategic plan, $135,000 for the scenic river overlook and floating docks, and more than $600,000 for sidewalk improvements along River Street, the news release said.
Applications for the housing rehabilitation program may be obtained at the village hall or by calling Rick Jarvis at 458-7112.
