Mark A. Carey Jr.

Mark A. Carey Jr., age 35, of Mohawk Drive, Canajoharie, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 25, 2008. He was born March 21, 1973, in Gloversville, a son of Mark A. Carey Sr. and Pamela Kevlin. Mark was a 1992 graduate of Fonda-Fultonville High School and a 2006 graduate of Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He was a computer technician and was employed for the Cumberland Farms of Canajoharie. He served in the Marines before being honorably discharged. Besides his parents, he is survived by his companion, Stacey Smith; his former wife, Denise Peterson Carey; and one son, Mark A. Carey III, of Schenectady; two brothers, Justin W. Carey of Gloversville and Stephen D. Kevlin of Fonda; one sister, Monica C. Carey, of Caroga Lake and her companion Michael Kiminski; step-parents, Victoria A. Carey of Gloversville and Daniel J. Kevlin of Fonda; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mark was an avid sportsman and enjoyed four-wheeling in his Jeep.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Finocan Funeral Home Inc., 13 Prospect Ave., Gloversville with Rev. Phillip W.B. Carey of The Believers Fellowship Church of Johnstown, uncle of the deceased, officiating. Friends may call on today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at the Parkview Crematory, Schenectady. The family would appreciate donations in his memory be made to Mark A. Carey Sr., 20 4th Ave., Gloversville, father of the deceased.
