St. Johnsville man charged with arson
ST. JOHNSVILLE - Village police and the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office have arrested a village man in connection with a suspicious car fire.
William A. Sagatis Jr., 28, of 10 Ann St. was charged Tuesday with third-degree arson, a class C felony.
Officers said on March 12, 2007, at 4:54 a.m., village fire and police personnel were called to the scene of a motor vehicle fire at 12 Ann St. At the time, the cause of the fire was undetermined.
Several months ago, new information was received that led to Sagatis' arrest, police said.
The investigation found Sagatis and his neighbor were involved in an ongoing feud, according to police.
Sagatis is accused of going to the neighbor's property and using gasoline to burn the neighbor's 1997 Ford Taurus, according to police.
Sagatis was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
