Couple celebrates 25th wedding anniversary

David and Barbara Gage of Gloversville celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary at a surprise party in Broadalbin at the home of Mary and Paul Chizek of Broadalbin. The event was hosted by their children. Approximately 50 guests attended from the surrounding areas.

The couple married Aug. 20, 1983, at the former St. Barbara's Church, Caroga Lake, and renewed their vows in 1992 in their home.

Barbara Gage, who is the daughter of Shirley Van Aernam and the late Robert Van Aernam of Johnstown, graduated from Johnstown High School and attended Empire State College. She is an internal network design and provisioning engineer for Frontier Communications.

David Gage, who is the son of Robert and Kathleen Gage of Mayfield, graduated from Mayfield Central School. He is the owner-operator route sales manager for Pepperidge Farm, where he manages both the bread and cookie distribution.

They have two children, Dave Gage II, who is attending Southern Vermont College, Bennington, Vt.; and Matthew Gage, who lives at home and is attending Broadalbin-Perth High School.
