Senior group slates trip to Turning Stone
JOHNSTOWN - The 50 Plus Club, housed in the Shirley J. Luck Senior Citizens Center, 109 E. Main St., hosted a cold covered dish luncheon with over 30 people in attendance. Following the luncheon, Ody provided entertainment by singing his songs from the past. A demonstration of the new voting machine took place, given by John Schermerhorn from the board of elections. Those attending took part in a mock vote.
The club has the following upcoming events.
For those who signed up for the Turning Stone Casino trip Tuesday, the bus will leave the center at 9 a.m. sharp.
On Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., there will be the planning meeting for the pancake breakfast with the men's club. A breakfast brunch will be served.
For those who signed up for the annual card party, it will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday with snacks, a chinese auction, a raffle and a lunch.
The club's newsletter included a flyer regarding LifeLine screening. On Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., services will be provided for various health testing at the center. There are fees for these services.
