Amy Lynn Shutter, the daughter Valerie and James Shutter of Johnstown, was united in marriage to Scott Michael Hale, the son of Robert and Barbara Hale of Johnstown, at 5:30 p.m. July 3.
The ceremony took place at the Perthshire. The Rev. Bert Mayne officiated.
The bride was escorted by her father.
The maid of honor was Renay Nowicki of Saratoga Springs.
The bridal attendants were: Stacey Rando of North Carolina, cousin of the bride; Bobbi Jo Allen of Amsterdam and Kimberly Hale of Rotterdam, sisters of the bridegroom; Heather Phillips and Sarah DeCuyke, both of Johnstown; Jessica Putman and Jamie Howard, both of Albany. The junior bridesmaid was Dasia Hale of Rotterdam, niece of the bridegroom.
The best man was Robert Kraemer of Johnstown.The usher was James Shutter of Gloversville, brother of the bride. The groomsmen were: Jason McCumber of Gloversville, cousin of the bridegroom; Ronald Allen of Amsterdam, James Bump of Maryland; Jon Jennings, Hanz Litz, Nathan Phillips and William Stock, all of Johnstown,
The reader was Julie Risley of Johnstown.
A reception for 185 guests took place at the Perthshire.
The wedding trip was a cruise to Grand Turke and the Bahamas. The couple resides in Johnstown.
The bride received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, Clinton County, and a master's degree in literacy from the College of St. Rose. She is a first-grade teacher at Warren Street Elementary School.
The bridegroom received a bachelor's degree in physical education from SUNY at Cortland and a master's degree in education from the University of New England. He is a physical education teacher at Johnstown High School.
