GLOVERSVILLE -The following are events for the Senior Citizen Service Center of Gloversville & Fulton County, 53 Church St.
Insurance presentations: At 10 a.m. Tuesday, MVP Gold; at 10 a.m. May 18, Senior Blue; at 10 a.m. May 19, United Health Care.
Trip: On May 26, to Turning Stone Casino in Verona. The bus will leave at 7:30 a.m. and will return around 7 p.m. The cost will be $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Upon arrival at the casino, attendees will receive $25 in free play and $20 in bingo. Everyone will receive a $5 meal credit. People who sign up a friend can get their name into a drawing for $20. The bus must be full and the friend must be on the bus to qualify.
Veterans breakfast: At 9:30 a.m. May 20, the cost will be $5. The menu will consist of omelets, bacon, home fries, toast, coffee and orange juice.
Open mic: From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. May 27. There will be a $1 donation at the door.
Open house: At 10 a.m. Wednesday, the center will have an open house. The center will have presentations of activities and programs it offers. We also will provide refreshments at noon.
Life Line: On May 24, Life Line screening will take place at the center. They will be screening for stroke, heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, and osteoporosis risk. The cost will be $60 for any vascular screening or people can get all five for $149. People must call 1-800-679-5192 to preregister and give the priority code: HSC6623.
