Beverly H. Smith Thompson, 91, of Gloversville, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012, with her son by her side at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Health Care, Gloversville after a short illness.
She was born March 3, 1921, in Gloversville, N.Y. to the late Helen A. Jeffers Smith and Homer E.S. Smith. She was educated in Gloversville schools and resided in Gloversville all of her lifetime.
Beverly was a homemaker and housewife.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Johnstown where she had many devoted friends.
She was married September 18, 1948, to Howard Thompson, who died February 16, 1965.
Survivors include her son, Gerald H. Thompson Sr. (Susan) of El Paso, Texas; one grandson, Gerald (Jay) H. Thompson Jr. (Yvonne); one granddaughter, Jennifer Thompson Wise (Randy); great-grandchildren, Michael Andrew Thompson, Krish Elizabeth Thompson, Robert Lee Wise, and Andrew Jay Wise. (all from El Paso, Texas). She is also survived by brothers, Robert D. Smith (Diane) of Gloversville and Sherwood A.H. Smith (Betty) of West Melbourne, Florida; also by several nieces, nephews and cousins; and by very special dear friends, Lucy Diener, Helen Thompson and Paula Tucker.
In addition to being predeceased by her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Smith Yates (Burton).
There will be no viewing hours or funeral service. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, alongside her husband, Howard Thompson at the convenience of the family.
