Edna M. Finch

Mrs. Edna M. Finch, age 81, of the town of Charleston, N.Y., died Friday morning, September 21, 2012, at Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility, Amsterdam.

She was born February 18, 1931, in the town of Root, the daughter of the late James and Ethel Payne Fish. Edna has resided for most of her life in the town of Charleston where she enjoyed playing canasta. She was a member of the Charleston Senior Center and the Christian Church of Charleston Four Corners where she was a Sunday School Teacher.

Edna was employed as a home health aide by Catholic Family Charities of Amsterdam.

She is survived by: her husband, David A. "Danny" Finch of Charleston; two children: Laverne Fish (Debbie) of Mariaville and Marion Rivenburg (Michael Gordon) of Fultonville; a sister, Doris Crockett (Horace); five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Edna was predeceased by: two sons: Ronald Fish and Donald Finch; three brothers: Walter, Ellsworth and Gilbert Fish; five sisters: Lovieta Russell, Isalane Lamphere Christina Auspelmyer, Julia Page and Roberta Fish.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, September 23 at Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St; Broadalbin, where a funeral service will take place 10:00 a.m. Monday. Interment will take place at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery, Broadalbin. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimers Assoc; Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4, Suite 405; Washington Ave. Ext; Albany, NY 12205.
