GLOVERSVILLE - Local art instructor Cheryl Bielli, a state certified art teacher, is offering art lessons this fall at a new space at Antiques N Uniques, located at 33 N. Main St.

Bielli is offering four-week courses - with two sessions per week - separately for both adults and children.

The children's class is scheduled from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, and offered for students age 6 through 12 years old.

The adult class for aspiring artists ages 12 years and older is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays.

The cost for the lessons is $75 for adults and $65 for children.

The classes are scheduled to begin in October, and the schedule is subject to change.

In cases of cancellation, classes will be rescheduled.

Only eight spots are available per class. Bielli said the small class size accommodates much individualized attention.

Aspiring artists of all ability level are welcome.

"We'll work with anything. I have one [student] who is interested in learning watercolor and another interested in three-dimensional sculpture, and another who wants to learn the basics," she said. "They can take it wherever they want. I'm able to meet any ability level and go from there."

In the class, Bielli said students will "learn how to see" and gain technique as they bring their own ideas to the class.

Bielli said she already has accepted four students for the adult class and three for the children's class.

The classes will be in a space she is renting at Antiques N Uniques, where she is also showing many of her own pieces for sale. This includes images in many mediums as well as sculpture work. She is rotating the art and also taking commissioned requests for work such as caricatures.

Bielli said the deadline for ordering commissioned artwork in time for Christmas is Dec. 1.

Eventually, Bielli said, one-time workshops also will be offered on topics such as drawing, marionette building and building a fall centerpiece.
