Angelo J. Cioffi, 75, of Johnstown, N.Y., passed away September 21, 2012 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany.
He was born Jan. 27, 1937, in Johnstown, the son of Angelo and Madeline Valentine Cioffi. He graduated from Johnstown High School and the Junior College of Albany. He also graduated from Utica College Syracuse University and received two Masters Degrees in Education and Education Administration from SUNY Albany.
Mr. Cioffi taught Business in the Oppenheim-Ephratah School and 6th grade in the Amsterdam School system.
From 1978 until his retirement he was a sales manager in the leather industry, first employed at Liberty Leather and then Herman Lowenstein, Inc. He later founded Arrow Leather. He traveled the country and made many friends and associates in the business.
Mr. Cioffi was a member of Holy Trinity Church and LOOM # 1185, Johnstown. On Oct. 10, 1969, he was united in marriage with the former Patricia Adams who survives. Mr. Cioffi is also survived by his daughter, Lisa Pratt of Pine City, N.Y., a granddaughter, Megan Pratt, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Dolores Keaveney.
Friends may call from 4 7 p.m. Monday and 12:30 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ehle Funeral Home where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1:30 pm Tuesday. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VA Catholic Chaplains' Fund, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12208.
