Richard C. Darling, 59, of Gloversville, passed away at home on Sunday, October 12, 2012. Richard was born on October 31, 1952, to the late Richard and Myrleen Nadley Darling. He was a self-employed contractor; masonry and carpentry were his specialty.
Richard will be remembered fondly for being an avid card player, bowling, billiard playing, sewing, reading poetry and helping anyone in need. He was a member of the Johnstown Moose Club. Richard loved his home-baked goodies, and spending time with his five grandchildren.
Richard leaves his memories to his wife, Linda of Johnstown; his children, Michael and Jody (James) Palmer, both of Gloversville; his five grandchildren; his siblings, Carol Cramer of Broadalbin, Janet Austin of Fonda, Patricia VanSlyke of Gloversville, Gary (Ellen), Wayne (Maureen) of Atlanta; also many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Joan Walker, Roy, Edward, Carl and John.
Calling hours were held today, October 17, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main Street, Gloversville, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service, with the Rev. Bonnie Orth. Burial will take place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown, N.Y.
