FONDA - An inmate in a state prison pleaded not guilty to charges of sex abuse during his arraignment in Montgomery County Court on Monday, according to the office of District Attorney James "Jed" Conboy.

Pedro Ressy, 35, of 317 W. Main St., Amsterdam, pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree sexual conduct against a child and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. These charges come from a period between late 2008 and June 2011 involving more than one victim. The children were younger than 17 and younger than 11 years old.

Ressy is incarcerated at the Cape Vincent Correctional Facility, where he is being held on a six-year sentence for a second-degree robbery conviction, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website.

Ressy's trial is scheduled to begin on Feb. 25, 2013.

Bennett pleaded guilty in August to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. He was arrested on Feb. 18 in the town of Minden when he was found with cocaine.
