JOHNSTOWN - The following is for the Johnstown 50 Plus Club, which is housed at the Shirley J. Luck Senior Citizens Center, 109 E. Main St.
On Oct. 18, the club had its anniversary luncheon at Vincenza's Banquet House, Meco, with 45 people in attendence. At the luncheon the Elionora Papa award was presented to a club member voted for by the club for all the service she does for all at the center. Ruth Gavin, who has been a member of the senior center for many years, was the recipient for this year.
On Oct. 25, is the harvest dinner with a prime rib of beef with all the trimmings.
On Oct. 31, the Halloween get-together with games, a costume contest and Halloween treats will occur. The tickets can be purchased at the center's business office for $2 per person.
On Nov. 4, from 8 to 11 a.m. is the men's pancake breakfast which is open to all. The men do the cooking. The tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the center or at the door.
On Nov. 6, is a big club fundraiser, the election day bake sale. While the polls are open for voters at the center, the club sells home baked goods. The club uses the money for selected charities.
On Nov. 11, a social Sunday dinner at Partner's Pub will be held. Call the center for details.
