Marion Elizabeth McMurray, 83, of 135 McKinley Ave., Johnstown, N.Y., passed away peacefully on the morning of Nov. 15, 2012, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn, Albany, N.Y., after an illness of four months. Born on Aug. 14, 1929, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of Carl S. and Frieda Lenz Schnipp and the wife of the late William McMurray of Niskayuna. She graduated from Johnstown High School in 1947 and Oneonta State Teachers College in 1951 and then taught elementary school for four years in Broadalbin and Scotia before becoming a full-time homemaker. Her joys in life were her family and her garden flowers. She had a good heart and was a generous contributor to many charities. Her survivors include her four children, William B. McMurray of Westerville, Ohio, Shirley A. McMurray of Niskayuna, N.Y., Robert C. McMurray of Cohoes, N.Y. and Barbara C. (David) Rathburn of Hartford, N.Y. Also surviving are her sister, Caroline F. Mitchell of Kalispell, Montana; along with a nephew and two nieces. Mom, we all love you and miss you dearly.
