Several area runners were among those named to the recently announced Foothills Council cross-country all-star teams.
Five area boys and five girls earned all-star status this season.
Gloversville senior John Knox and Gloversville sophomore Alex Gifford were named boys first-team all-stars.

They were joined on the first team by Queensbury senior Troy Kelly, Queensbury junior Zane Belden, Queensbury senior Ben Anderson, Glens Falls senior Josh Lee, and Scotia-Glenville senior Chris LaCross.
In addition to its three first-team all-stars, Queensbury also placed four runners on the second team and six runners on the honorable mention team.
Seniors Garrett Camp, Ben Baker and Alex Castonguay were named second-team all-stars for the Spartans, while junior Chris Vaillancourt also was honored.
Broadalbin-Perth junior Greg Bogdan also was named a second-team all-star.
Rounding out the second team was Glens Falls senior Ben Collins, Scotia-Glenville freshman Dennis Pollicino and Glens Falls senior Joe Nichols.
Queensbury had seniors Luc Belkikis, Andrew Kaiser, Greg Wetmore, Mike Duell and Alex Savin earn honorable-mention status, while junior Ben Holser also was honored for the Spartans.
Johnstown senior Eric Brower and junior Daeshan Buseck earned honorable-mention status.
Rounding out the honorable mention team were Glens Falls' Noah Duell, Justin Ryan and Brian Hughes; Scotia-Glenville's Daken Broadhead and Anthony Erno; Hudson Falls' David Fish; and South Glens Falls' Matt Jenkins.
On the girls side, Queensbury dominated the all-league selections, placing six runners on the first team, on on the second team, and six on the honorable mention team.
Seniors Taylor Mueller and Celine Dreilein; junior Megan Kellogg; sophomore Emily Guinther; and freshmen Tyra Wynn and Sherri Metcalfe all earned first-team honors for Queensbury.
Scotia-Glenville senior Julia Lindsay was the only non-Queensbury runner on the first team.
Broadalbin-Perth senior Mackenzie Ottati and sophomore Brittany Craven were named to the second team.
Also earned second-team honors were Scotia-Glenville senior Becca Kraines, South Glens Falls junior Sara Billings, Queensbury sophomore Rachael Guinther, Glens Falls senior Bridget Resse and Hudson Falls junior Hailey Mooney.
Broadalbin-Perth sophomore Coreena Monroe, Gloversville freshman Kate Senzio, Johnstown junior Skylar Swatt and Gloversville freshman Morgan Rienhardt all were named to the honorable mention team.
Seniors Calie Hubert and Casey White; juniors Jenny Messina and Kimberly Hanchett; and sophomores Sydney Dennison and Katie Ackner all earned honorable-mention status for Queensbury.
Rounding out the honorable mention team were Scotia-Glenville sophomore Cara Zanta, Glens Falls senior Carina Singletary, Scotia-Glenville senior Emily Houghlihan, South Glens Falls sophomore Kimberly Braken, Glens Falls sophomore Erin Birchfield and South Glens Falls freshman Amber DeCresente.
