The Glove Performing Arts Center and the Board of Directors of the Gloversville Theatre Corporation would like to thank one and all who participated in the production of "In Darfur." Students from six schools recently came to the center to watch the play about what is happening in Sudan and the genocide of women in that country. A little more than 1,000 students were able to see the play and learn about the atrocities in Darfur.
The play "In Darfur" was in part due to the generosity of the Fulton-Montgomery Arts Grants part of the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council of the Arts, administered by the Saratoga Arts Council. The production was brought to our attention by our board president Mr. Mark Finkle.
We have an obligation to area children to continue to be part of the community, and to introduce productions like "In Darfur" to students.
The Glove Performing Arts Center is here for that purpose. Please keep supporting our efforts to present the best that we can offer to you.
