JOHNSTOWN - Family and friends of a local mother of six, Cori Pedrick Snell, will host a benefit bowling tournament Saturday at Perry Lanes.
There are noon and 3 p.m. shifts for teams of five at a cost of $15 per person.
Friends and family will be in attendance, but the benefit is open to the general public. Prizes, which were donated by the community, also will be raffled off.
There will be cash prizes for first-, second-, and third-place teams in the 8-pin, no-tap event.
There also will be 50/50 raffles and music. Friends are also putting together great baskets to be raffled off with themes like golf, Italian cooking, NASCAR, Christmas and spa enjoyment.
To register for the event, stop by Perry Lanes or call 762-8618.
The benefit is planned to help offset the cost Cori Pedrick Snell is facing from cancer treatment she is receiving at Roswell Park in Buffalo. She was diagnosed with appendix cancer. It is rare as it affects only about 1 in 10 million people per year in the U.S. Those not planning to bowl may also send a donation to the CPS Benefit Fund c/o NBT Bank, 142 N Comrie Ave, Johnstown.
