December 1, 2012
The Leader Herald

BROADALBIN - The Red Hat Country Chicks recently had its annual Christmas party at The Charlton Tavern, Saratoga County, with 26 in attendance. The chairwomen of the event were Elsie Stewart and Sharon Menech, who gave each of the women a gift. Maggie Boltash also gave everyone a gift.

The two queens, Linda Attreed and Sue Morey, received a centerpiece and candle from all of the women present. Carol Humphrey, the treasurer, and Mary Lou Lockyer, the secretary, also received a gift.

The group took up their annual collection for a charity of their choice. This year the charity was Ryan Pickering of Broadalbin, who is awaiting a double lung transplant.

The group had their luncheon, and then the women sang Christmas carols.

The Red Hat Country Chicks will have their next meeting on the third Monday in February 2013, at Travers Diner in Johnstown.
