OPPENHEIM - State police at Fonda say an area man was driving drunk, with drugs and a loaded rifle in the car, when they pulled him over Nov. 30 on Route 29 near North Road.
Troopers say they stopped a car driven by Joshua Stowell, 26, of St. Johnsville for traffic infractions, and during a search of the vehicle they found a plastic bag with approximately 2.1 ounces of marijuana, four hydrocodone pills and a loaded rifle.
Stowell was charged with driving while intoxicated, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving across a hazard marking, fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, seventh degree possession of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance outside the original container and possession of a loaded firearm while in a motor vehicle.
Stowell is scheduled to appear in Oppenheim Town Court at 6 p.m. Dec. 12.
