Police break up underage party

December 14, 2012
The Leader Herald

JOHNSTOWN-City police announced this week they are investigating another underage drinking party, one of several this month in the city.

Kaitlin M. Skinner, 16, of 388 Honeywell Corners Road, in Broadalbin, was arrested Dec. 7 and charged with possession of alcohol by a person under 21, a violation.

Officers received a tip that an underage party was taking place that evening at 411 Glebe St., a residence that has had a history of underage parties, according to police.

Police said there were 16 people, ranging in age from 14 to 22 years old, at the party, hosted by a 15-year-old boy.

Police said alcohol, marijuana and other contraband were confiscated. Skinner was the only person charged, but police said they are investigating to determine who supplied the alcohol.

Skinner was released on an appearance ticket. The arrest was the third this month in connection with underage drinking parties in the city, police said.

Earlier this month, police reported Darby B. McCullers, 24, of Hall Avenue was charged under the social-host law in connection with a November party at which a teenage girl fell from a second-story window and fractured her skull.
