AMSTERDAM- A Johnstown man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly carrying a used crack pipe, hypodermic needles and a cooking spoon that contained a substance believed to be heroin after a traffic stop in the town.
Raymond Joseph Brundige, 57, of 403 N. Market St. in Johnstown, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department reported.
Officials said Brundige's vehicle initially was stopped for a speeding violation and he consented to a search of his vehicle. Multiple drug paraphernalia items were found, officials said.
He was transported to the Sheriff's Office, where he was issued tickets.
Brundige was released and is set to appear in Amsterdam Town Court on Thursday at 7 p.m. to answer the charges.
