Patricia A. Mangiaracina, 60, of Gloversville passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany on December 19, 2012, following a brief illness. Her loving family was by her side. She was born in Queens, N.Y., on June 18, 1952, the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Bauman Becht.
Patricia had a master's degree in feminist legal theory from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York as well as a bachelor's degree in paralegal studies from Interboro Institute. She was married October 19, 1973, to Joseph W. Mangiaracina. She and her family lived in Queens until 1995, when they moved to Albany, N.Y. They spent the last eight years living in Gloversville. Pat worked some time at the Boulevard Elementary School as an aide and most recently for Cumberland Farms in Fonda. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and was an avid crafter. She also enjoyed weekly bingo at St. Cecelia's Hall in Fonda. Pat loved to read, swim and be outdoors. She also liked to visit amusement parks. Pat also would conquer 1,000-piece puzzles and listen to Motown music.
Her loving family includes her husband, Joseph W. Mangiaracina; son, Joseph W. Mangiaracina Jr. of Albany; daughter, Lisa Mangiaracina of Gloversville; and beloved granddaughters, Alissa Mangiaracina and Olivia Brownell. She also is survived by many friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
