Mr. Bruce D. Hojohn, 46, of Gloversville, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2012, in Pennsylvania. He was born October 10, 1966, in Amsterdam, son of Alice Benware O'Brien and the late Charles Hojohn. Bruce was educated in Broadalbin schools where he also was captain of the percussion section of the marching band. He graduated from BOCES in Johnstown with a certificate in food service management.
Mr. Hojohn was a Quarter Master Petty Officer 3rd Class in the Navy from 1985 to 1989 serving on the USS Garcia and USS Talbert.
Bruce has spent the past twenty years in sales and food service management. He was a board member of the Lehigh Valley Restaurant Association in Allentown, Pa., and most recently restaurant manager at Applebee's in Johnstown. He was a devoted N.Y. Giants fan and loved NASCAR as well. He was very proud of his extensive comic book collection
He especially loved RV camping in Ocean City, Maryland with his daughter. Bruce loved dogs especially his beloved dog, Ruby.
Survivors include his daughter, Katarina Hojohn of Allentown, Pa.; his mother, Alice Benware O'Brien of Gloversville; a brother, Robert Hojohn of Amsterdam; three sisters, Carol A. Schwed (James) of Gloversville, Kathy Cornell (Larry) of Broadalbin and his twin, Beth Ann Basco of Gloversville; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at the Jefford's & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 W. Main St., Broadalbin.
