Proud to be Oppenheim-Ephratah alumna

December 27, 2012
The Leader Herald

I had the pleasure of volunteering for the recent Santa breakfast at Oppenheim-Ephratah Central School. It was a great experience for me because I have a fondness for that school. In 1991, I graduated from Oppenheim-Ephratah with many outstanding memories that will be in my heart and mind forever. I was amazed and excited by the outpouring of support for the school and the kids that go to Oppenheim-Ephratah School.

As I was serving food, I had the fortunate opportunity to run into some people I haven't seen in a very long time and also was able to meet new people. It was great to see many wonderful families attend this event. The kids were very well mannered and very respectful, saying please and thank you.

My daughter attends Mayfield schools and I have to say I was happy to have my daughter attend and volunteer with me at this event, as well as my mom. We had three generations volunteering that day.

As a final thought, please support the schools, children and families of your community as well as other communities. Children are children and it doesn't matter what district they reside in. Let them see that there is a lot to be positive about and thankful for. I was a very proud alumna that day.
