Regarding the recent letter to the editor from Kirk Tooley: I am glad I am not the only one to recognize the obvious political bent of recent editorials, both before and after the election.
The United States spends more on its armed forces, I won't say defense, than the rest of the world combined.
I think back to President Dwight Eisenhower's warning about the military-industrial complex, which the Republican party backs.
