James G. McGlynn, age 78, of Johnstown, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2012, at his residence after a long illness.
He was born on January 2, 1934, in Gloversville, the son of the late John McGlynn and Agnes Burns McGlynn.
James was a Johnstown High School graduate who received his education degree from LeMoyne College. He was a teacher for the Department of Defense educating students of military personnel stationed in various locations overseas. Mr. McGlynn taught math and Latin to his many pupils over the years. He especially enjoyed his longest position in Okinawa.
James was of the Catholic faith, a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church and the current Holy Trinity Church. He truly enjoyed the arts, including attending plays, theater and painting.
Mr. McGlynn is survived by his cousins and special friend, John.
A graveside service at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnstown will be conducted in the spring.
