Jean Elizabeth Davison, 87, passed away peacefully after a long illness in North Canton, Ohio on January 11, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Davison. Born in Gloversville, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Madeline (Rockwell) DeGolyer and sister to the late Robert DeGolyer.
Jean graduated from Mayfield Central School and earned a teaching degree from Oneonta College. She taught at Mayfield Elementary School for 29 years. Jean loved spending time with her family, bowling, reading and hiking.
Jean is survived by: her loving children, Suzanne McMillen, and her husband, Tom, Tracey D. Mohn and her husband, Walt; her cherished grandchildren, Kristin Haid and her husband, Bill, Lindsay Poehlmann and her husband, Eric, Brian McMillen and his wife, Vi, and Patrick McMillen. She also is survived by her sister, Ann Patterson, and her husband, Jack; John S. DeGolyer and his wife, Nanlea; and several nieces and nephews.
The Reed Funeral Home of North Canton, Ohio (phone 330-477-6721) has helped with arrangements. A memorial service to remember Jean's life will be private. Jean's family would like to thank Heatheridge and The Windsor Medical Center, both in North Canton, Ohio, for the kind and loving care given to Jean.
Donations for library books in Jean's name may be given to the Mayfield Elementary School in Mayfield, N.Y.
