CHARLTON - State police said a man was arrested after a two-car crash Sunday that killed an Amsterdam man.
A vehicle being operated by Marcus R. Young, 24, of Granville was traveling westbound on Route 67 and crossed the center of the roadway into the eastbound lane, striking an oncoming vehicle operated by Glenn L. Smith, 50, of Amsterdam, police said.
Smith was transported from the scene by Galway Ambulance Corps to Saratoga Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Young was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while ability impaired due to drugs and various other vehicle and traffic violations as a result of the crash.
Young was arraigned in Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. He is to reappear in Town Court at a later date.
