Caroga Lake teams win tourney titles

CAROGA LAKE - The Caroga Lake Volleyball Club recently won the championship in both the 14U and 18U juniors tournament hosted by ADK at South Glens Falls High School on Jan. 13.

The Caroga Lake 14U team finished pool play with a 7-1 record and advanced to the finals where it defeated the Lakeside Guppies in a tiebreaker match, winning the championship. In the finals, Caroga Lake won by scores of 22-25, 25-23 and 15-1.

The 14U team consisted of the following players: Aspen Darling of Dolgeville, Emily Littlejohn of Fonda-Fultonville, Juliette Mancini of Fonda-Fultonville, Jordan Marshall of Mayfield, Hanna Moore of Fonda-Fultonville, Megan Ryder of Broadalbin-Perth, Laura Scharpou of Wheelerville and Zoe Simonson of Broadalbin-Perth. The team was coached by Holly Livingston and Jodi Rorick

The Caroga Lake 18U team finished pool play with a perfect 8-0 record advanced to the finals where it defeated Crush 18U in two sets to win the championship by scores of 25-10 and 25-11. The Caroga Lake 18U team consisted of the following players: Brandi Blazak of Whitesboro, Elizabeth Hayward of Johnstown, Zara Hyde of Johnstown, Cory Lais of Fonda-Fultonville, Carly Lonzak of Whitesboro, Allison Lysiak of Broadalbin-Perth, Katlyn Pierce of Gloversville, Jenna Putnam of Gloversville and Annie Stock of Johnstown. The team is coached by Kristy Lynch and Jessica Lynch-Kucel.
