Thelma Savage Lusk, age 94, of Ephratah, was sent to the Lord on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Thelma Chamberlain with her family at her side.
She was born October 9, 1918, in Newark Valley, N.Y., a daughter of the late Harry Russell and Hattie Rozell Russell.
She was a graduate of the Newark Valley Central School, class of 1936.
Mrs. Lusk was employed for the former Leon F. Swears Glove Co. for seventeen years as a glove maker and she then worked Fulton County Cooperative Extension as a training aide until her retirement in 1975.
She attended the Church of Christ, Johnstown, a member of the Sammonsville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a 4-H leader for over 20 years, a member of the P.T.A., a craft club member in Ephratah, a charter member of TOPS Chapter 773 and a member of KOP for twenty- six years, a member of the Western Fulton County Senior Citizens and a board member of the Ephratah Rural Cemetery.
Her hobbies included gardening, canning, farming and looking after her grandchildren, watching the lipizzan stallions dance and listen to the music while visiting family in Florida.
On December 5, 1938, she was united in marriage to Allen H. Savage and he passed away on June 17, 1963. She then married William E. Lusk on June 30, 1973 and he passed away on January 11, 1995.
Survivors include four sons, Paul Savage of Ephratah, Allen Savage of Johnstown, Delbert Savage of Gloversville and Ralph Savage of Johnstown; four daughters, Thelma Chamberlain of Johnstown, Linda VanDuesen of Ephratah, Sheila Savage of Ephratah and Shirley L.C. (Timothy) Aguilera of Gloversville; two brothers, Kenneth and Martin Russell; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her two husbands, she was predeceased by her sons, David Savage, Phillip Savage; grandchildren, Michael Nellis, Christopher Savage, Carolyn Aguilera, Caylyn Rose Aguilera and Stacey Ponzi; brothers, Vincent Russell, Donald Russell, Roger Russell, Gordon Russell; sisters, Lucy, Lillian, Dorothy, Frances, Mildred, Helen, Blanche.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home, Inc. 215 East Main Street, Johnstown.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Cremation will be at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
