MAYFIELD- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested a Mayfield man Saturday after a snowmobile accident that injured a passenger.

Joseph C. Salvione Jr., 41, of 158 Priddle Point Road, was charged with snowmobiling while intoxicated, snowmobiling with a blood-alcohol content of 0.08 percent or higher and imprudent speed.

Deputies said Salvione was operating a snowmobile on the Great Sacandaga Lake with a passenger on the back of the machine. When Salvione exited the lake, deputies said, the snowmobile struck a snow embankment causing the passenger to be ejected.

The passenger was injured and airlifted to Albany Medical Center, deputies said.

Deputies said during an interview with Salvione he was found to be intoxicated.

Salvione was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town Court at a later date.
