Charles L. "Chuck" Christman, age 57, of Milford, New Hampshire, passed away on Thursday, February 7, 2013, at the Community Hospice House, Merrimack, New Hampshire, after a brief illness.
Mr. Christman was born on November 14, 1955, in Gloversville, a son of the late John Christman and Jane Adeline Ross Christman.
Before moving to New Hampshire, Charles spent many years employed at various local leather mills as well as taking an active interest in preserving workers rights as head of their local union between 1984-1985. Charles was employed for many years as a Purchasing Agent for Unicast in Londonderry, New Hampshire. His passions were his family, gardening, and religion, as well as having an unusual fondness for fireworks. He was a member of Light of the World Christian Church in Milford, N.H.
Charles is survived by his wife, Melody J. (Kirby) Christman, whom he married on October 12, 1974; one son, Charles D. Christman and his wife, Jessica Christman of Nashua, New Hampshire; two grandchildren, Kaelyn and Campbell Christman also of Nashua; three brothers, Jim Christman and Roger Christman, both of Mayfield and Donald Christman of Johnstown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Christman was predeceased by his four brothers, Paul E. Christman, John Christman, Ronald Christman and Scott Christman.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 18, at noon at the A.G. Cole Funeral Home Inc., 215 East Main Street, Johnstown, with the Dr. Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Friends and family may call prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.
Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
