Amsterdam’s Santos qualifies for finals

WEBSTER - Amsterdam's Kristian Santos qualified for the championship round of the 1-meter diving competition at the New York State Federation Swimming and Diving Championships at Webster-Schroeder High School.

Santos, a junior, finished Friday's preliminary round in 14th place with a total of 206.60 points.

Section II diver Adam Bonk of Shenendehowa also qualified for today's championship round with 207.80 points, good for 12th place in the standings.

Dylan Marin, from Pittsford of Section V, leads the opening day of diving competition with 242.40 points.

Shenedehowa's Ben Hale also represented Section II at the meet, but did not make the first round of cuts, finishing 33 with 173.00 points. The top 30 divers advanced to today's competition.
