Rosalind Florence Tatar, 93, of Averill Park, formerly of Gloversville, passed away on Friday afternoon, March 29, 2013, at Barnwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Valatie, surrounded by her family.
Born in Utica on December 29, 1919, Florence was the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Max and Mary (Zimmerman) Freeman.
She was married in St. Petersburg, FL, on April 1, 1944, to SSgt. Milton Tatar (USAAF). Following the conclusion of World War II, Florence and Milton moved to Gloversville to raise their family, where Florence became a full time mom and homemaker. Florence moved to Albany in 1992 to be closer to her son and his family.
Mrs. and Mrs. Tatar enjoyed over 52 years together until Milton passed away on September 11, 1996.
She is survived by one son, Mark A. Tatar, and his wife, Pamela of Averill Park; three grandchildren, Justin, Adam and Andrew Tatar; and one niece, Denice Freeman of Peoria, AZ.
Graveside funeral services will be conducted at noon on Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Knesseth Israel Cemetery, Gloversville.
