AMSTERDAM - After trailing 4-3 at the half, Amsterdam held Utica Proctor scoreless in the second half, while tallying five goals to secure the non-league victory.
"They dug deep today to come back from a one-goal difference at half time," Amsterdam coach Paul Furman said. "They shut the Proctor offense out in the second half only to have our offense continually have success against their defense."
Hector Diaz netted four goals for the Rams, while Anthony Yevolli had a pair of goals and Kevin Ottati and Ryan Mihalek scored one goal apiece. Robert Santiago and Matt Fedullo both registered assists for Amsterdam, while goalkeeper Dillon Smith recorded 19 stops in net.
"Once again Dillon Smith turned in a stellar performance," Furman said. "He continually stopped Proctor's shooting attack. Proctor was able to move the ball very well. They had good ball control and good shooting skill. Dillon was able to stop them and not allow them to score."
Furman also praised the efforts of Diaz, Isaiah Martin, Dan Banewicz, Matt Fedullo and Otatti for their standout performances in the victory.
