Mrs. Egly

On April 21, 1949, she married Theodore Walter Egly Jr. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Bay Shore, Long Island. Kathleen and Ted were married for over 45 years until his passing in 1994.

Kathleen was a fervent lover of history and the arts, reading, quilting and old movies. She and husband, Ted, shared a passion for all things old, particularly antiques. Their interest grew until it culminated in the opening of their antique business, Bayberry House, with an emphasis on restoration of fine furniture and coin silver. They traveled extensively in the Northeast doing shows until the time of Ted's passing. Kathleen shared her love of jam making with her former brother-in-law, Alan, and she and Ted spent many weekends helping out and relaxing at his bed and breakfast, Cornell House in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Kathleen was a member of Inglesides, while our family resided in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, and was a volunteer at the local hospital. When Ted relocated to Gloversville, N.Y., Kathleen was asked to join the board of Getman Memorial Home, where she served for many years and continued as an active volunteer there for many decades.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by brother, William "Bill" Harris and brother-in-law, Alan Egly.

Surviving family members are her children: twins, Kevin W. Egly and wife, Shirley, of Coweta, Okla., and daughter, Kim L. Najera and husband, Roger, of San Antonio, Texas; her sister-in-law, Josephine "Joy" Harris of Racine, Wis.; grandchildren, Ted Egly and wife, Kathryn, of Montgomery, Ill., Heather Egly-Pierce and husband, Dustin, of Okla., and Alexander Wolfe of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandsons, George, Clark and Paul Egly; nephews, Michael Harris and wife, Lori, and Jimmy Harris; a niece, Ann Marie Harris-Blyth and husband, Stephen.

Private graveside funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown
