Huskies earn split at Mudville Tourney

HERKIMER - The Gloversville softball team earned a split in action Sunday at the Mudville Tournament.

The Huskies won their first game of the day 10-2 over Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk before falling to Saranac in the second game 5-1.

Alexis Capasso connected for a grand slam home run and a single against Ravena, while Devin Davis had a triple and three RBIs. Natalie Ozea had a double and a single, while Emily Towne and Brook Washburn had two singles apiece and Samantha Stewart singled.

Towne delivered a pair of singles against Saranac, while Ashley Ostrander, Washburn and Stewart all singled.

Foothills Council

Broadalbin-Perth 7, Johnstown 3

JOHNSTOWN - Broadalbin-Perth remained unbeaten in the Foothills Council with its victory on Saturday.

Caitlyn Rosefke led the Lady Patriots with a home run and a single. Kristina Fletcher added a double and two RBIs, while Rachael Orapello was 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Jordyn Hale had a double and an RBI for Johnstown, while Morgan Colasanti doubled and Ellen Praught had a pair of singles.

Johnstown (1-2 overall, 0-1 Foothills) will host South Glens Falls today, while Broadalbin-Perth (2-1 overall, 2-0 Foothills) hosts Queensbury.
