H.S. Baseball Roundup: Queensbury rallies past B-P

JOHNSTOWN - Phil Wettersten was 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead Queensbury to a 9-6 win over Broadalbin-Perth in a Foothills Council baseball game played at Johnstown High School on Wednesday.

The Spartans trailed 6-1 after one inning before rallying to earn the win by scoring three times in the top of the ninth.

Charlie Peltz had a triple for Queensbury, while Reed Farrier had a double.

Tim Gordon had a double for B-P (2-3 overall, 2-2 Foothills), while Patrick Brown and Matt Myers each had a single and two RBIs.

Dylan O'Sick and Logan Akins each had a single and an RBI for the Indians (2-3 overall, 1-3 Foothills), while Quentin Austin added a single.

Chris Lee had an RBI and a single for Johnstown (2-1 overall, 2-1 Foothills), while Dan Nellis, Joe Nellis, Adam Caputo and Jon Heroth each had singles.

FONDA - Baylee Hall and Pat Hart combined on a four-hitter to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a win over Cohoes.

Anthony Sinicropi had a single and two RBIs for FFCS (2-1 overall, 2-1 Colonial), while Hall, Hart and Kevin Myers had a single and an RBI. Lucas Calkins and Zack Valachovic each had singles for the Braves.

Kevin Napier had a single and a double for Cohoes (0-3 Colonial), while A.J. Cioffs and Trey Brammer each had singles.

MAYFIELD - Taylor Hartman pitched three scoreless innings in relief to lead Galway to a win over Mayfield.

Hartman struck out six Panthers and didn't allow a run.

Evan Ceroalo had two singles for the Golden Eagles (2-3 overall, 2-2 WAC), while Zac Hartman, Taylor Hartman, Same Uline, Jeff Kline and Tyler Goergen each had singles.

Bobby Gates pitched well in the loss for Mayfield (2-3 overall, 2-2 WAC).

Gates allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks. Gates also struck out five.

Colden Glover led the Panthers with two singles, while Austin Lair and Riley Yager each singled and drove in a run. Ryan Hennessy added a single for Mayfield.

Marcus Failing pitched all eight innings for the Hilltoppers, striking out 15 and allowing seven hits.

Zach Sweet had three singles for Fort Plain (4-0 overall, 4-0 WAC), while Tim Wolfe had a two-run single in the fourth inning.

Pat McGrath had an RBI double for Duanesburg, while Sean McGarry had a double and a single.

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Jesse Winters pitched a four-hitter, striking out 12 and walking none to lead Saratoga Central Catholic past Canajoharie.

Winters also went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Saints (3-0 overall, 3-0 WAC), while Sean Hart was 4-fot-5 with five RBIs.
