Tartans overpower Sir Bills, 16-3

JOHNSTOWN - Scotia-Glenville's Nick McCloskey posted six goals and three assists to help propel the Tartans to a 16-3 victory over Johnstown in Foothills Council action Thursday at Knox Field.

Connor Flaherty also had a big game for the Tartans (5-1) with seven assists and two goals. Zach Tripoli added four goals, while Tom Marola had two goals and Sam Carmola and Kelsey Francois had one goal apiece.

Brandon Akey, Jeremy Mowrey and Anthony Mowrey had one goal apiece to account for Johnstown scoring. Jeremy Mowrey also had an assist. Johnstown goalkeeper Zack Simone was credited with five saves.

The Sir Bills will be back in action at 7 p.m. Saturday when they host Amsterdam in a non-league match under the lights at Knox Field as part of the teams benefit for JDRF. A fireworks display is planned during halftime at about 8 p.m.
