Once upon a time, there was a Fulton County Economic Development Corp. It was started and run by local people who were loyal to our area; people who really wanted Fulton County businesses to grow and prosper.
Along came two people from the Albany area - not homegrown talent, but out-of-the-area talent, who really wanted themselves to grow and prosper at Fulton County's expense.
To make a long story short: Eventually, there was a $3 million bonus scandal and a big fight over who did what and when.
What a mess.
Someone came up with this brilliant idea: Let's change the name to the Center for Regional?Growth.
Bad idea. A good idea would be to go back to the EDC (and never drop the Fulton?County).
Just my opinion.
