H.S. Softball Roundup: Mayfield rolls past Canajoharie, 17-2

CANAJOHARIE - Lisa Hime went 4-for-5 with three RBIs to lead Mayfield to a 17-2 win over Canajoharie in a Western Athletic Conference North Division softball game Wednesday.

Caitlin Tomlinson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Mayfield, which had 23 hits in the game.

Mackenzie Biggers and Maria Messina had a single and double for the Lady Panthers, while Nicole Little had a home run and two singles. Jen Little added three singles and an RBI for Mayfield (8-1 overall, 7-1 WAC).

Anna Husain had two hits and an RBI for the Lady Panthers and also picked up the win in the circle.

Husain struck out 14, walked two and allowed six hits in seven innings.

Mayfield and tossed a complete game to earn the victory,

Morgan Gray and Lauren Balfe each had two hits for Canajoharie (2-5 overall, 2-4 WAC), while Brittany Pitonza went 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

FORT PLAIN - Jamie Fredericks pitched a two-hitter, leading Fort Plain to a win over St. Johnsville.

Allehah VanLoan, Jamie Fredericks, Erin Nellis and Kendra Trembley had singles for Fort Plain (8-3 overall, 6-2 WAC), while Haley Kilmartin was 2-for-4.

Samantha LaCoppola and Mackenzie Ferguson had singles for St. Johnsville (1-5 overall, 1-4 WAC).

Saratoga Catholic 12, Galway 11

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Myah Ondreyko three hits and four RBIs to lead Saratoga Central Catholic to a win over Galway.

Ondreyko had a RBI triple in the bottom of the eighth to lift the Saints to the win.

Sloan Connors had three hits and three RBIs for Saratoga Catholic, while Jocelyn Maher also had three hits.

Jessie Freebern had three hits, including a home run, for Galway, while Jessie Uline finished with three RBIs.

DUANESBURG - Tori Powers pitched a two-hitter, leading Duanesburg past Schoharie.

Tess Bloom had a three-run double for Duanesburg (8-2 overall, 7-0 WAC), while Becky Nicolella added an RBI double. Devin Hennel scored two runs for the Eagles.

Gabby Panthine had a bases-loaded triple for Schoharie.

FONDA - Roma Mazzanello pitched a two-hitter, leading Ichabod Crane to a shutout win over Fonda-Fultonville.

Mazzanello struck out 11 and walked none to earn the complete-game victory in the circle.

Aly Funk had a double and two singles for Ichabod Crane, while Jen VanAlphen had a triple and a double. Rychel Webster had two singles for the Lady Riders, while Hayley Goold added a triple.

Salisbury struck out 13 on her way to the complete-game win.

At the plate, Salisbury was 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Lilly Maggs was 4-for-4 for Bishop Gibbons, while Juliana Maddalone hit a three-run home run.

Bayley Archinal had single and two doubles for Amsterdam (3-6 overall, 1-4 Big 10), while Jordann Bernardo also added a base hit.
