H.S. Baseball Roundup: B-P defeats Galway, 8-3

GALWAY - Tim Gordon went 2-for-2 with two RBIs to lead Broadalbin-Perth to an 8-3 win over Galway in a non-league baseball game Saturday.

Phil Hemstreet earned the win on the mound for the Patriots, allowing four hits, two runs, striking out eight and walking two in five innings of work.

Anthony Visco was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI for B-P (6-4 overall), while Luigi Magliocca, A.J. Klemczak, Patrick Brown and Matt Myers all had singles.

Rob Baron had a single and two RBIs for Galway, while Zack Hartman, Taylor Hartman, Sam Uline and Tyler Bailey all had singles.

Fort Plain 11, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 4

BERNE - Marcus Failing improved to 4-0 on the season pitching 5 1/3 innings of relief as Fort Plain topped Berne-Knox-Westerlo on Saturday.

Failing struck out 10 and walked one to earn the win, and he also added two singles and an RBI at the plate.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo led 3-0 after the first inning before the Hilltoppers rallied to earn the win.

Joey Ray had two singles, three runs scored and two stolen bases for Fort Plain (9-0 overall, 9-0 WAC), while Chris Hanifin had a single, triple, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Kiernan Briggs had a two-run triple for the Hilltoppers.

Maclin Norray had two singles, two RBIs and two runs scored for Berne-Knox-Westerlo, while John Lucas had a single, triple and scored a run.

Fort Plain will travel to Mekeel Christian Academy on Tuesday for a 4:30 p.m. non-league contest.

RAVENA - Tim Hughes pitched a two-hitter to lift Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk to a win over Fonda-Fultonville on Friday.

Carter Ducatte added a two-run single for the Indians (5-4 overall, 4-3 Colonial).

Pat Hart had a double for FFCS (4-3 overall, 4-2 Colonial)

DOLGEVILLE - Reid Johnson had two hits and three RBIs, leading Dolgeville to a win over Frankfort-Schuyler on Friday.

The Blue Devils finished the game with 10 hits.

Alex Johnson had two hits and two RBIs for Dolgeville (3-3 overall, 3-3 CSC), while Dakota Walrath added a double.

Johann Doerrer earned the complete-game victory for the Blue Devils. Doerrer struck out six, walked three and allowed 10 hits to earn his first win of the season.

Joe DeSarro had three hits, including two doubles, for Frankfort-Schuyler, while Justin Kiesow had two triples.

Dolgeville will host Herkimer on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
