Clinton Arthur Russell, 74, of Davis Lane, Fonda, New York, passed away on May 1, 2013, with his loving family by his side.
Clinton was born on September 11, 1938, to the late Richard and Freda Russell. On September 20, 1969, he married his loving wife, Gretha Davis Russell. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Berlin crisis during 1961-1962. He worked on several farms and also drove truck for FedEx for seven years until he retired in 2004. Clinton spent 23 years of his career as a building superintendent for Windsor Park apartments in Bayside, N.Y., and apartment complexes in Metuchen and East Orange, N.J. He enjoyed spending time doing small repairs, reading, and also spending time outdoors. Clinton often tended to his garden and property. He also got enjoyment from taking camping trips with his wife and family.
Clinton was predeceased by not only his parents but also his sister, Dorothy Russell; brother, Richard Russell; and stepbrothers, Jim LaPlant and Donald LaPlant. His survivors include his wife of 44 years, Gretha; his son, Loren Russell; daughter; Tanya Russell; five grandchildren, Johna, Antonia, Paul and Elias, and Dylan; stepbrothers, Lawrence, Joe, and Manley Laplant. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family invites relatives and friends to attend a calling hour on Saturday, May 4, 2013, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fulltonville, NY 12072. There will be a service to celebrate Clinton's life at 2 p.m. Immediately following the service, an interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, N.Y.
